JUNE 2013 NEWSLETTER: THE BUZZ

The Buzz

HP EG Strategic & Logistics Support, CO
“...you know the hardest part about the sale of a meeting is that first touch and if Yolanda hadn't been so fantastic throughout the preplanning and on site selection it could have pushed us elsewhere.  She is really outstanding at her job and I know because of her that the program will be flawless.”

Prudential Financial
Thank you for all of your efforts with the 2011 Leadership Summit! The decor for the Welcome Party was exactly what I was hoping for.  La Hacienda was a perfect venue for the group, and the replacement entertainment was perfect.  And the Recognition Dinner, WOW!!!!  From the living IVY to the entertainment...  WOW is all I have heard.  The attendees LOVED that evening so much so that they FINALLY danced!  Truly, I cannot thank you enough for everything you did to make our program a success.  The tours, gifts, dine arounds, everything was perfect! I have not heard any negative feedback - NOT one word!  I truly hope we can work together once again and that our paths will cross sooner than later!”

Society of Critical Care Medicine 2013 Congress
The bus service was the best we've ever had at a convention, and all of the people of Puerto Rico (at the hotels, restaurants and convention center) were friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.  If there was any problem, they bent over backwards to resolve it.”

Becoming an Influential Communicator

You may be wondering what does this have to do with me…especially with what I do at GSI?  Well, it has everything to do with you and how important you are to us.  Here are the SIX FACTORS that will help us become influential communicators:
Key factors that will make people trust GSI at all times.

1 - GOAL

What is the driving force that keeps you focused and performing at optimum strength?  What are you here for?  What is your North?  Well, for you to be at your best you must always keep in mind, our mission:
To consistently deliver superior services with the right attitude!

2 - Team

We need each other!  To quote Angelimari Lopez, our very own Team Leader at the Condado Plaza:  Team Work Makes the Dream Work!  Working together makes us more efficient.  Working together makes each of us work with less effort, at a faster pace, and ensures a smooth performance!

3 - Shoe

Putting ourselves in someone else’s shoe, connecting, relating to our co-workers and clients will change the manner in which we relate and respond.  Empathizing with our neighbor develops trust and motivates everyone around us.  It’s about what the others want to hear…not what I want to say…
We must take into consideration who we are communicating with: Millennial (12-31), Generation X (32-47), Baby Boomers (48-65), or Traditionalists (66+)
We must commit to:
- Do things right from the get-go
- Offer options not excuses
- Listen

4 - Message

Do I speak or do I communicate?  Here is one of the most powerful factors to become an influential communicator!  When we communicate we convey a message.  We must include all the information the other person needs.
To ensure the best quality when conveying a message here are the six questions to keep in mind:
Who, What, Where, When, How, Why

5 - Synchronize

As a team we all must always keep in mind:
- Image GSI wants to project
- Projection = Success
- Right Attitude
- Intonation when we communicate, and always make Eye Contact

6 - Enthusiasm
We must ENJOY WHAT WE DO!  What actions do I inspire?  Am I passionate about what I do?  This requires us to deal with every situation with a can do attitude but most of all a moving on attitude that works in coordination with our mission!  This way everyone of us will consistently deliver superior services with the right

We encourage each and every one of you to engage in these factors every day, so we can work as a synchronized team, empathizing with people around us in order to better convey the message that we are enthusiastic about our mission!  GSI’s next twenty years will set the standard in the DMC industry for Puerto Rico!

Hi everybody:

We want to share this year's Team Leader Meeting experience so everybody can take back those memories and cherish them whenever they want. The meeting, which took place this past Tuesday November 19, 2013 was a success. This season will be a busy one, due to this some changes have been made.
The following segments were discussed in the Team Leader Meeting:

  • We will be incorporating one (1) more half day tour of the Rainforest. being then one at the morning and the second right around 11:00AM (To start selling wait for notification)
  • Commissions meeting will take place at El Conquistador on December 4, 2013. (Will send e-mail notifying times and transportation)
  • Our holiday party will be a family day, so the family is invited including kids. It will take place at Hacienda Carabali on December 21, 2013. There will be a pool and other fun surprises. Remember to bring your swimsuit!

  • Team Leader remember to send your hotel occupancies and schedules for the next month.
  • Note: It will be easier to send the days that everyone is available keeping in mind the Occupancy.

After the meeting discussion a surprise event arose, where GSI Controller, Yasmin Nieves, took the group for a bowling game at Carolina Bowling Center. We definitely had a great time at the bowling alley. We had so much fun that even the drivers joined us for the festivity.

We had time to play one full game and half of another.
